1. New Pony, More Tricks!
Having owned the original Hydro for just about a year, I've watched and waited to see how the rest of the industry would react to Kyocera's wild-card entreé into the smartphone field. Not exactly a high-end phone (see my review elsewhere on Amazon), I found the phone a mostly-good combination of size/weight, features (most prominent being a mostly-unmolested offering of Android 4.0/ICS), and reasonable if not exactly peppy performance.

That last bit became a little more irksome with time and additional apps added to the phone: a few buggy apps, which would be merely annoying on a phone with a faster processor, could hobble the Hydro unnecessarily; a few apps stopped the poor thing in its tracks. These apps, thankfully, fall into the cool-but-hardly-essential category for me, and a quick uninstall brought things back to normal. And, up until a month or two ago, the Hydro's chief calling-card - bonafide waterproof-ness - had no known competition.

2. Best phone I've ever had
Previously I owned a Kyocera Hydro and loved it's durability. After seeing the new Hydro Edge come out I decided to try it.

Kyocera has done a wonderful job with the upgrade. The larger screen and impressive camera claiming only to be 5mp actually seems more like an 8mp. The already installed Panoramic camera! Not to mention texting could not get any easier! Yes it has the voice response but even better, when I text it can tell what phrases I'm going to use. Such as if I said, "I hope you like it" or something like that, I put in "I", then "h" and they automatically show the word "hope" as one of the choices but immediately after choosing the pretexted word 'hope' it shows you the word 'you' and other words that you might say after 'hope'. Almost guessing your next word. I just love it.

BEST PHONE EVER!!!!!!
If you have the money then its worth the investment! I know how this phone works used, however, I brought my new and it's working awesome/beyond great. It's like a mini Ipad except you can make call and text from it. I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!! The fact that it's waterproof is a triple bonus. I may be a tech head, nonetheless, I might not be upgrading my phone for a while, lol
